  • Garmin InReach with a current EXPEDITION PLAN: This 2-way satellite communication system is the only system accepted for this event. Besides its use for competition's satellite livetracking and its SOS button, InReach is capable of a two-way communication between the pilot and the recovery team. This is indispensable to allow for rapid and efficient recovery of pilots who landed in remote desert areas.

  • VHF Radio communication: Used for winch launching operations, and recovery vehicles.

  • Water: A minimum of 4L of water is required to be carried by each pilot while flying. The risk of dehydration is real after landing, should a pilot need to wait for the recovery vehicle.

  • Recommended: Quick release system.
